Senior Clinical Manager - headspace

Flourish Australia has an exciting opportunity for the right person to be our Senior Clinical Manager overseeing all of our thriving headspace Services. The position is permanent full-time (76 hours/fortnight) working Monday to Friday. The remuneration package, including a fully maintained vehicle, will be commensurate with skills and experience.

About the Opportunity

As the Senior Clinical Manager, headspace Services, you will lead, oversee and manage the clinical and administrative operations of headspace services in Bankstown, Castle Hill and Parramatta (with clinical oversight only for our Broken Hill headspace office). You will provide leadership to the headspace teams and work collaboratively with relevant sectors to ensure an integrated model of care and effective service delivery. In addition, you will be responsible for leading the development of Flourish Australia's clinical capacity, overseeing the implementation of innovative clinical services and contributing to program and research development to ensure service integrity.

Your extensive clinical experience is coupled with sound management skills which will facilitate excellence in integrated holistic health care. In this role, your goal will be to improve outcomes for young people, families accessing the service and the wider community.

About headspace and Flourish Australia

headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation supporting young people aged 12-25 years with their mental & general health care needs. One in four young people have experienced a mental health issue in the past 12 months – a higher prevalence than all other age groups. headspace provides early intervention mental health services to young people who present with mental health issues, along with assistance in promoting young peoples’ wellbeing. This covers four core areas: mental health, physical health, work and study support and alcohol and other drug services.

Selection Criteria

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, Occupational Therapy or other allied health discipline and eligibility for membership of an appropriate professional body; and eligibility to register with Medicare Australia as an MBS Primary Care provider or an Allied Mental Health Professional provider.
  • Demonstrated experience/ability to lead and report on complex planning and service development processes.
  • Demonstrated capacity to engage in leadership and management processes.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in direct service provision to young people and/or providing mental health services or programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in the establishment and management of clinical systems.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Bankstown, Broken Hill, Castle Hill and Parramatta youth/health sectors.
  • Experience in providing clinical supervision to mental health clinicians.
